The Davenport Arabian....
To understand the importance of DAVENPORT breeding, you need to recognize that these horses are a repository of biological and
cultural values in Arabian breeding which is very rare. It exists in only a few lines of Arabian breeding, of which DAVENPORTS are a
major part. For people who enjoy history, DAVENPORT horses trace to the Bedouin horse breeders of the Arabian Desert by known
pedigree routes with unusual closeness.
In Arabia, horses were kept track of according to families of breeding, which were called strains. These strain identifications were transmitted
from each mare to her offspring, so that if a mare was of a certain strain, so were her foals, regardless of the strain of their sire. DAVENPORTS
horses are, first of all, Arabian horses. They have changed little in basics since their ancestors were inported into this country at the turn of the
19th and 20th centuries. We have more of them now then existed in Homer Davenport's day (27), so some blending and specialization within
their bloodlines has occurred.

Trieramain is bred three generations in the Kuhaylan-Haifi Strain and substrain. A long-necked powerful horse with fine skin, big eyes, handsome head and athletic movement, he has produced some of the best Kuhaylan foals born in Craver Farms ownership. In terms of quality of production, he has the gift of enhancing the Kuhaylyn merits which are possessed by the mares to which is bred. An excellent source of the Letan and *Reshan influences. We hope to breed Confetti to Hingham in 2006 for a 2007 foal. |
